Zurander was in no hurry this evening. He didn't even want to go to the party. There was no point if one didn't have a date. He knew very well that if he went, we wouldn't be leaving alone. That was a perk for Zurander. He was good looking, charming, had a head full of hair. He was what every woman wanted at that school and yet, he was the only one who couldn't find a date to this God awful thing. He wasn't too impressed with it to begin with. It was written that it was mandatory for all students to attend. "With or without a date," he grumbled to himself. He never did like being forced into doing something he didn't want to do.
Sighing gently, Zurander made his way out of the Gryffindor Common Room and ducked into the hall leading to the entrance. There, he knew, would be a lot of girls with no dates, waiting for guys like him to come in a sweap them off their feet. Zed grinned at this thought and continued on his way, a little more quickly.
Finally making it to the main entrance of Hogwarts, his hazel eyes me those of many contenders. Grinning gently, Zurander fixed his bow tie on his dress robes and walked up to his first try of the evening. As he passed a mirror, he quickly checked himself out in it. He was making sure that his hair wasn't misplaced, that his award winning smile was present and that his overall appearance wouldn't scare off the potentials. He cleared his throat as he made the final touches on his hair and walked over to the first girl of the evening. She was a redhead, his favorite. Her eyes were deep green and her smile could wake up the world.
"Hello Miss. I'm Zurander Thatcher and I was wondering if I could get you a beverage?" He stated with a smile worth a million stars. She laughed. Oh her laugh was as sweet as the ripest honeydew melon. Her eyes sparkled as she laughed.
"My, my, Mr. Thatcher, I would love a beverage... Perhaps after this dance?" She asked, raising one of her brows at him. He nodded and took her right hand in his. He didn't pull her along until he had bowed and kissed the top of her hand ever so lightly.
"Come with me darling," he replied and whisked her off her feet. Unfortunately for Zurander, he had turned too quickly and ran into someone. "I'm Terribly sorry!" He shouted and turned around to pick up his date off of the floor. while he had turned, she slipped on the back of her dress and fell over. Zurander felt bad, but couldn't help himself. He started to laugh. Uncontrollably. It wasn't his fault she looked so funny sprawled out on the floor like a starfish. Nonetheless, he helped her up and apologized for his actions and the way he had laughed at her. He was now dateless again.
"C'mon mate! Look at what you've done," he whined, "you made her run away." He finished, looking entirely too glum for someone who is used to hopping around from woman to woman like a jackrabbit.
